This is my story about having a brain aneurysm and 2 strokes.

My name is Pam and I was 54 years old when this happened to me. I don’t remember much of what happened to me, so this is the story that other people told me. Today I am 57 years young.

A girlfriend of mine said we had dinner the night before this happened. She said I complained that I had a headache. I used to get migraines that would last for days so I didn’t think much of it. The next day the headache persisted so my boyfriend at that time was a Chiropractor so I asked him to adjust me – no relief. I went to bed which is what I used to when I had a migraine – sleep it off. Well I got up in the middle of the night, started talking to my boyfriend and fainted. He knew something was wrong with me so he took me to the Veterans Hospital . ( I was enlisted in the Coast Guard back in the 70’s and I was enrolled in their healthcare program).

I am a Physician’s Technician and Registered Medical Assistant , Nutritionist and a Chelation Therapist. I know a few things about the medical field. I started out in traditional medicine and what I learned from it showed me that most of time it doesn’t work. That is when I went to alternative medicine.

The VA sent to Emory to do brain surgery because no one at the VA Medical Center could do brain surgery. My aneurysm burst and I was bleeding from my eyes. While they were in my head clipping it, I had 2 strokes and was in a coma for 3 weeks. They doctors did not expect me to live. When I came to, I was paralyzed on my right side and could walk or talk. I was like a baby and I had to learn all over again. I was in the hospital for 6 months coming home in a wheel chair.

I remember my very first visit to the Hyperbaric Center. My boyfriend would come and get me out of the Rehab Center where I was in Atlanta and bring me, wheelchair and all, to the Center. Bill would lift me out of the wheelchair and put me into the chamber where I would stay for up to 2 hours. He looked at me one day and said, ‘ Pam hold on, we are coming’. I believed him and without the 100 treatments of hyperbaric therapy I would not be the woman I am today.

The more treatments I got, the more that I would improve. I progressed from a wheelchair to a walker and then to a cane. Now I don’t need any assistance to walk. And I started driving again on Memorial Day weekend in 2010. That really gave me my independence back after not driving for over 2 years.

I thank God everyday for my life and I ask God to bless this center and Bill and all others who work here or come here for hyperbaric treatments.

If someone tells you that hyperbaric doesn’t work – they are lying to you. It helps everyone who is willing to invest the time and money to get well no matter what their problem is.
