According to Dr Loren Z Clayman, M.D.P.A., “Mohs cancer surgery results in a large open wound with may be closed with a flap or skin graft or allowed to heal with secondary intention.” n“Secondary intentions allows healing in a small concentric scar. Normal healing of a defect or wound over the forehead may take up to 12 weeks.” n“Using daily low pressure hyperbaric air treatments a 3cm X 4cm defect of the forehead healed in 4 weeks. The wound edges remained soft and supple allowing fibroblastic contraction to occur significantly faster.”
